A Legacy of Compassion: Honoring SickKids’ 150 Years of Changing Lives

A Special Look-Back: LPH at the Toronto SickKids 150th Birthday Celebration

It was an incredible experience for Love Peace Harmony to be part of SickKids 150th birthday party at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto, Canada. Thousands of children, families, and dedicated SickKids staff gathered for a day of fun, visiting various sponsors and booths, and the energy was simply electric!

We had an incredibly fun and deeply rewarding experience engaging with the vibrant SickKids community. Our  Love Peace Harmony Booth was a monumental hit!

About SickKids: A Legacy of Hope and Healing

The Hospital for Sick Children — known lovingly as SickKids — is one of the world’s leading pediatric healthcare institutions. Founded in 1875, it has been at the forefront of improving children’s health through groundbreaking research, compassionate care, and global partnerships. Every day, SickKids serves some of the most vulnerable children and families, offering world-class care that spans from life-saving surgeries to complex mental-health treatment and chronic-disease support.

Its impact extends far beyond its walls: SickKids also trains future generations of healthcare professionals and leads international initiatives to strengthen pediatric care worldwide. In Canada, roughly one in three children faces a chronic health condition before age 18 — a statistic that highlights just how essential institutions like SickKids are to ensuring every child has the chance to live, grow, and thrive. For families facing the unimaginable, SickKids is a lifeline of expertise, compassion, and hope.

A Birthday Worth Celebrating: 150 Years of Changing Lives

The 150th birthday celebration on June 7th, at Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square was far more than a milestone — it was a heartfelt tribute to 150 years of courage, innovation, and community. The iconic downtown plaza was transformed into a festival of gratitude and joy, filled with music, laughter, and color. Families, children, hospital staff, and supporters gathered to honor generations of healthcare heroes and the countless young lives forever changed by the hospital’s care.

The atmosphere was electric — live performances, interactive booths, games, and heartfelt tributes created an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance. The event symbolized unity: people from all walks of life coming together to celebrate healing, resilience, and the power of community to create change. It was a reminder that while SickKids continues to push medical boundaries, it is the compassion and collective spirit of people that keep its mission alive.

Our LPH Booth at SickKids’ 150th: An Unforgettable Experience and Impact

Our team was truly touched by the event and all the careful planning that went into making the day so special. Every detail was flawlessly executed, creating an overwhelmingly positive and uplifting atmosphere.

Having our Love Peace Harmony booth at the SickKids birthday party was more than just a presence; it was a true privilege for us, witnessing countless families connect with us, visit our tent, and participate in our activities was incredibly moving. Our Love Peace Harmony Bear gift bags were an undeniable sensation and a heartfelt favorite for so many children. Seeing countless happy faces and knowing we contributed to such precious moments made our day, and truly reinforced the power of community support for SickKids. We were honored to be a part of such a significant celebration!

The ‘Love Peace Harmony Activation’ at our Booth

Visitors to our booth were invited to immerse themselves in our ‘Love Peace Harmony Activation’ — a joyful and interactive experience bringing together creativity, mindfulness, and community connection. Guests of all ages enjoyed the pure magic of the Love Peace Harmony water mat art experience. Children and families enthusiastically gathered around our tables, their eyes alight with curiosity and excitement.

With every stroke on the special mats, the shift in people’s moods were noticeable — adults and children alike were brought into a state of peaceful, quiet concentration, often lasting for 10 minutes or longer. It was as though they were discovering a deep inner dimension of peace within themselves, by coming into greater stillness through the calligraphy, like the stillness on the surface of water allows one to perceive its depths.

It was truly wonderful to see the joy of creative expression unfold, with laughter filling the air as families shared this dynamic and unique artistic experience together, creating beautiful, temporary masterpieces and lasting memories. Our banners of the Love Peace Harmony Calligraphies sparked curiosity and conversation about our transformative Love Peace Harmony Field™, while music filled the air as our signature namesake Love Peace Harmony Song played throughout the day, creating a warm, uplifting atmosphere.

Attendees received stickers, small giveaways, and a chance to win one of 150 special gift bags in honor of SickKids’ milestone year, all while having the opportunity to capture the memories by having their pictures taken with festive props and headbands to mark the celebration.  Altogether, our booth offered a space of joy, creativity, and harmony—spreading smiles and positive energy throughout this unforgettable day.
