Children’s Education & Village Reconstruction in the Nayabasti Community, Kathmandu

The Nayabasti community consists of families originally from India who lost their homes during the 2016 earthquake. They now live just a few hundred meters from the magnificent Boudhanath Stupa—one of the most iconic landmarks in Kathmandu and all of Nepal.

Most families in the community live in single-room apartments. For all 50 households, there are only six shared toilets and three shared shower facilities. The basic living conditions demand tremendous effort, particularly from the women, who manage most of the household responsibilities.

Due to widespread unemployment and irregular income, many families cannot afford to send their children to school. However, thanks to our Compassion-in-Action trip to Kathmandu in early 2025 by our Executive Director Alexia Cito and dedicated LPHF Volunteers Tom Hecker and Caroline Riezler, Love Peace Harmony Foundation is now sponsoring the education of 43 children from the Nayabasti community. This marks a significant step toward a brighter future for these children and their families.

You can be the reason a child’s future changes forever.

Right now, 43 children from the Nayabasti community have the opportunity to attend Lord’s Light Academy—receiving not only an education, but also hope, dignity, and the chance to break free from the cycle of poverty. But this life-changing gift is only possible with your support.

Your donation will directly fund their scholarships, ensuring these children have access to quality education, a safe learning environment, and the tools they need to dream bigger and achieve more.

Every contribution, no matter the size, is an investment in a child’s potential—and in a brighter future for the whole community.

Donate today. Change a life forever.

Children of the Snowland School

The Snowland Ranaq Light of Education School is located on the outskirts of Kathmandu and is led by Rinpoche Dolpho Buddha. The school is home to more than 170 children from remote Himalayan regions. These children would otherwise have no access to education, as there is no infrastructure in their home villages. For most of them, living at the school for many years without physical contact with their parents and families is incredibly difficult. Their villages are simply too far away for regular visits or communication. In 2017, a documentary titled Children of the Snowland was filmed, providing a powerful insight into the lives and challenges of these children. Our volunteer, Tom Hecker, has built a meaningful connection with the school. He facilitates a regular virtual session for the children to practice in the Love Peace Harmony Field to support their emotional well-being. We are currently sponsoring 21 children at the school — and we would be deeply grateful for your support to continue this important work.

Your generosity can help ensure that these bright, resilient children continue to receive the education, care, and emotional support they deserve. By sponsoring their schooling, you’re not only opening the door to knowledge and opportunity but also offering comfort and hope to young hearts separated from their families. Together, we can nurture their dreams, strengthen their spirit, and give them the tools to build a brighter future for themselves and uplift their communities. Donate today, and be a lifeline for the children of Snowland Ranaq Light of Education School.

Children of the Nilkantha Secondary Boarding School

Principal Kumari has been leading Nilkantha Secondary Boarding School for over 40 years with deep love, compassion, and a true heart of service. The moment you enter the school, you can feel the warmth and care that make this place so special. We had the privilege of engaging in inspiring and heartfelt conversations with her — and felt an immediate connection from the heart. Nilkantha Secondary Boarding School is a small private institution providing  foundational education to students from Early Childhood Development through Grade 10. Nestled in Kathmandu, it plays a vital role in supporting local children’s educational growth within its community. LPHF is currently sponsoring 32 children at Nilkantha Secondary Boarding School, and your support means so much to us and to the children. Thank you for helping us continue this journey!

Join us in standing alongside Principal Kumari and the incredible children of Nilkantha Secondary Boarding School. Your donation will help ensure these students have access to quality education, a safe and nurturing environment, and the encouragement they need to reach their full potential. Together, we can honor Principal Kumari’s lifelong dedication and create lasting opportunities that transform young lives. Give today, and be part of the love, peace, and harmony that make this school a beacon of hope for the future.

Children of the Kanya Mandir Secondary School

Kanya Mandir Secondary School, located in the Nhyokha–Chhetrapati area of Kathmandu, holds the distinction of being Nepal's first public girls’ school, founded in 1947. It offers education from pre-primary through secondary and +2 levels, with programs under the National Examinations Board in Humanities, Education, Management, Law, and Science. The school stands out for its modern facilities—including science and computer labs, e-library, smart classrooms, and a child-friendly environment—and is supported by dedicated teachers and a vibrant alumni community

Your support can help ensure that the children of Kanya Mandir Secondary School—many from low-income families—have access not only to quality education, but also to the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive. By contributing, you are investing in the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers, empowering these young minds to break the cycle of poverty and create brighter futures for themselves and their communities. Together, we can open doors, spark dreams, and make a lasting difference in their lives.

The Love Peace Harmony Difference

Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, both internationally and within the local communities, our Love Peace Harmony Fieldâ„¢ consisting of the Love Peace Harmony calligraphies and song, has been a core feature in our support of the communities of Kathmandu, with Love Peace Harmony practices integrated both into local schools and people’s daily lives in these communities, to uplift hearts, create a field of healing, and bring people together in harmony.
