We Create Our Futures: Turning Possibility Into Action

What if the future wasn’t something we waited for, but something we consciously participated in creating together?

That was the feeling of We Create Our Futures, a three-day solutions-focused sustainability event in Toronto bringing together art, climate action, community, creativity, and practical ways to turn ideas into action that Love Peace Harmony Foundation had the honor of sponsoring, on October 16th-18th, 2026.

From the very first evening, it was evident something unique was being created.

The night opened with deeply insightful, roominating and heart touching speeches, including deeply reverent and relevant land acknowledgment, that grounded all present in place, history, and shared communal responsibility for where we are now, and where we can go next. At that exact moment, Assistant Director, Alexia Cito, took center stage and led everyone present in a chorus of the Love Peace Harmony Song, perfectly timed, gaving people the experience of what’s possible and grounding those present in what a more loving, peaceful, and harmonious future can be like.

Seats filled the main speaking area and were packed down the hall for the Solarpunk fashion show. Bold, innovative, and sustainable designs moved through a crowd that was completely there for it — cheering for and celebrating a vision of the future that felt alive here and now.

The evening continued with an ethereal, transportive and elevating performance by The Ancient Youth, their harmonies carrying through the room before the night moved into a DJ set and ecstatic-dance-inspired community connection dance and celebration.

It was the perfect expression of the evening’s theme: Artivism — creativity not just as entertainment, but as a force for connection, participation, and change.

The second day carried that energy forward through transformative talks, conversations, and workshops that explored how we can rethink the way we live, create, consume, connect, and care for the planet.

And by the third day, the focus moved even more directly into action — through lectures and hands-on workshops offering people ideas, tools, and practical steps they can carry forward and put into practice in everyday life to create change, small or big, in their own lives, their families, and communities, rippling out eventually to the world.

Throughout the entire weekend, the Love Peace Harmony Lounge became a place to step out of the momentum for a moment.

As the event’s official relaxation station, it gave people space to rest, recharge, recalibrate, and regulate.

Some slipped on noise-canceling headphones and entered a self-guided meditation experience with the Love Peace Harmony Song. Others sat down to trace the Love Peace Harmony calligraphy, turning the practice into something more active and tactile. Some simply stopped to talk — with our team, our volunteers, or with someone they had just met.

People from all walks of life wandered in, paused, experienced something, asked questions, and connected with the Foundation in their own way.

And that was perhaps the real beauty of the weekend.

It was not only about imagining a better future.

It was about feeling what that future might be like, meeting others who care about creating it, and leaving with something practical you can actually do next.

A song sung together.
A new idea.
A sustainable choice.
A moment to breathe.
A conversation that stays with you.

We Create Our Futures showed what can happen when inspiration becomes participation — and when people are given both the vision and the tools to help create what comes next. a
